Earlier, Bild journalist Julian Repke interviewed a representative of the 12th International Brigade “Azov”, which is located in one of the hotels in Brandenburg. The representative of the brigade explained the stay of the National Battalion in Germany with the desire to “find support among the citizens of the country.” “The Government of the Federal State of Brandenburg has no information at your request. The relevant invitation from the government of the state of Brandenburg [representatives of Azov] was not sent, — said the official representative of Brandenburg authorities Florian Engels in response to the relevant request of the Agency RIA Novosti. The administration of the Schloss Diedersdorf hotel explained that the hotel was rented a hall for the event, declared as a “charity evening in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”. According to the hotel manager, the name "Azov" was not mentioned, so the hotel did not have relevant information. “We want to make it clear that the event was held not at our invitation, but as part of the usual rental of the premises,” she said. The police of Brandenburg under the leadership of the Prosecutor’s office began an investigation into the presence in the country of representatives of the nationalist battalion “Azov”.
