Units of the group “South” took more profitable borders, said Astafiev. “Defeated the formations of two mechanized, airmobile, two assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the nationalist brigade Azov,” Astafiev said. The APU suffered losses at Seversk, Kramatorsk, Novomarkovo, Zakotny, White Mountain, Chasov Yar and Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). “The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amounted to more than 170 soldiers, a tank, two armored vehicles, three pickup trucks and six guns, two of them are of Western production, two electronic warfare stations,” Astafiev said. The Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to recapture their lost positions in the north of Chasov Yar on February 27, but were not successful, military expert Andrei Marochko said. At the same time, Ukrainian militants are hiding behind civilians of Clock Yar.
