In Seversk, Tomsk region, a domestic dog of the breed of dachshund bit to death a baby born in 2025. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee (SK).

It is previously established that on the night of March 10, a dachshund bit a girl sleeping in a crib. The body of the child without signs of life and with multiple bites was found by the mother of the deceased. A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence”). All circumstances, as well as the causes and conditions of the incident are established. "An inspection of the scene was carried out, a complex of forensic examinations was appointed, witnesses are questioned, other investigative actions are carried out," the ministry added.
