In Tobolsk restored Alexander chapel of the XIX century

The chapel of the XIX century, built in memory of Alexander II, is restored in Tobolsk. After restoration, the historic building can become part of the imperial route. At the end of the XIX century, it acquires a new name in honor of the chapel - Alexander Garden. The chapel itself was built in memory of the future Emperor Alexander Nikolaevich, who visited Tobolsk in the summer of 1837. On March 1, 1881, Alexander II was martyred in St. Petersburg, as is known, in its place a Temple was built on blood. And in Tobolsk, a year after his death, in 1882, the local merchants themselves took the initiative with a request to build a chapel in memory of the visit of the heir to the city of Tobolsk. The chapel was opened on the day when the 300th anniversary of the city of Tobolsk was celebrated. That is, in the summer of 1887, said Igor Balyunov, head of the department of storage and popularization of museum funds of the Tobolsk Museum-Reserve. Now the building is six by six meters wrapped from the Siberian cold with a warm – thermal contour to maintain the plus temperatures for the necessary restoration work. Specialists came to the facility last autumn. “The opening of the historical masonry has now been carried out. It is carried out by the method of gentle processing. That is, now there is a restoration of seams, grout, dismantled dome, cross. In the process, a historical painting was discovered inside. Now it is not a historical plaster removed from it. After that, a separate project will be developed to restore this painting, said the director of the urban environment department of the administration of Tobolsk Fedor Dukhno. The architect of the chapel was the master – Alfred Parland. And this is the only building beyond the Urals, which was built by the author of the temple "Savior on Blood" in St. Petersburg. According to the restorers, the building has survived to this day without serious destruction. Work masters taking into account the "historical recipe". “The restoration brick itself and the seams. The solution is also made restoration, mixed in proportions of lime, sand, cement, explained restorer Dmitry Kurach. After the restoration works, the Chapel will appear before the Tobolyaks and guests of the city in its original form, complementing the unique historical ensemble of the lower posad of the city. It will probably become part of the Imperial Route of Tobolsk.
