The director of the National Dance Theater of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) named after S. A. Zverev, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Alekseev, reports TASS. On March 5, he was in an accident and died in hospital at the 67th year of life. Alexander Alekseev graduated from the Department of Choreography of the Khabarovsk State Institute of Culture and was accepted into the troupe of the State Dance Ensemble of Yakutia. In 1992, the ensemble was transformed into the National Dance Theatre, and Alexander Alekseev was appointed its director. Over the years, the theater has presented hundreds of new concert numbers and about 60 choreographic performances to the music of modern Yakut and Russian composers. He also created the Orchestra of National Instruments and the Kyl Sakha ensemble of authentic music. Thanks to the active touring activity of the production of the Dance Theatre of the Republic of Sakha, residents of different cities of Russia and foreign audience could watch.
