Ivan Alexandrovich Ilyin is a philosopher who possessed a unique and very rare gift of providence. Back in the middle of the last century, he described with incredible accuracy the spiritual crisis in which humanity will sink to the beginning of the twenty-first century: “The era now experienced by mankind is an era of judgment and collapse. All nations without exception go to trial, some earlier, others later. The ideas of greatness and happiness cannot be taken away from people.” One of the main ideas in Ilyin’s philosophy was “the sacred idea of the Motherland”. For him it was not only the basis of worldview, but also the main motive of life. In the last years of his life, Ivan Ilyin was more often perceived by society as a publicist and even as a politician. The essence of politics, he argued, was not that citizens and the state should continually sort things out or deceive each other, but that they should cooperate for mutual prosperity and development.
