Kamchatka Museum Assembly - 2023 - 11 March 2025, 07:35

February 27 – March 1, 2023 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky held the Kamchatka Museum Assembly “Socio-political role of the Museum in the era of global transformations”. About 80 representatives of museums and other cultural institutions take part in the Assembly. Among them are the Hermitage and Tretyakovka, the Dahl Museum of Literature and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, the Yasnaya Polyana Museum-Estate and the V.K. Arsenyev Museum-Reserve of the History of the Far East and others. The President’s Adviser for Culture and Art Vladimir Tolstoy, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Culture of the State Duma Alexander Sholokhov, Director of the Gatchina Museum-Reserve Vasily Pankratov also take part. They will discuss the role of museums in supporting social and psychological well-being in society, attracting new visitors, copyright and museum law, as well as talk about grant competitions and human resources. The program of the Assembly: Plenary session and five sections, round tables and discussions, as well as a business game. Within the framework of the events, the following topics are discussed: "How do museums go through economic and socio-political transformations?", "What place does the museum occupy in the changed socio-political environment?", "How do we try to effectively fulfill our social function and help society to overcome crisis situations?", "How do we attract local visitors?", "How can we make the museum interesting to talk about them, do we need to use them?", "How do we use them to create a museum?", "How do we need to be successful in order to create a museum?", "How do we need to become a museum?"
