Kelin: the British have invested in Ukraine 70 billion pounds and do not stop

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the United States spent $ 350 billion on military and financial assistance to Ukraine, which is 200 billion more than Europe sent. According to Kelin, London has also spent a lot of money to support Kiev. The British have invested heavily in the confrontation with Russia, Ukraine, the Ukrainian project, its support. It required enormous resources. There are figures – somewhere around 70 billion pounds, that is, about 100 billion dollars. But everything is considered here – missed opportunities, losses from energy carriers and so on, the ambassador said. The main installation, according to him, remains the infliction of strategic defeat of Russia, regardless of how the situation “on the ground”. Kelin considers it a "purely opportunistic thing." “Why this is happening, I also understand why they are going in this rut,” the diplomat said. If we turn away from it, it will mean admitting our erroneous policy in recent years – not even three, but probably more. And how do you explain that to the British people, who are now living in a situation of austerity across the board - especially the social one? According to Kelin, the understanding that the chosen tactics do not work appears, but not everyone. There is an opinion that the money being spent in Ukraine could be used to solve painful problems in its own economy. But this is not the prevailing trend. The trend is to keep pushing, the ambassador said. Earlier, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Liz Truss said that Britain is experiencing a socio-economic crisis and is turning into a failed state, which is facing bankruptcy.
