Kim Ye-jong notes that strengthening self-defending nuclear forces in this regard is especially urgent. “The root cause of the aggravation of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, obviously, lies in the machinations of the United States and its satellites, which further intensify actions aimed at transplanting NATO infrastructure into the region and increasing the level of preparation for war,” she said. She drew attention to the fact that the strategic forces of the United States are actually “at a permanent level” in the area of the peninsula. According to her, the region is often visited by both American bombers and nuclear submarines. “We will not sit idly by and just comment on the situation. If the United States continues to update the record in the demonstration of military forces, then we will have to break the record in the use of strategic deterrence forces, she said. The United States should not test North Korea’s will and ability to defend its sovereignty and interests. In turn, South Korea said about the “reckless shifting of blame” for its actions. The representative of the Ministry of Unification of South Korea believes that in the “North” such statements justify their own “military provocations”.
