A ceasefire and the signing of a peace agreement with Ukraine is possible only after the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the territory of Russia, said military expert Igor Korotchenko.
He stressed that we are talking not only about the Kursk region, but also new regions – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. The expert pointed out that this condition is the basis for signing the agreement, as well as the international recognition of the new borders of the Russian Federation. “It is obvious that these demands of the Kremlin will be the basis of the Russian negotiating position at possible international meetings dedicated to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict,” Korotchenko told RIA Novosti. Earlier, political scientist Glenn Diesen expressed the opinion that the basis of any upcoming peace agreement on the Ukrainian conflict will be the military neutrality of Kiev. He added that Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO would not be enough. The alliance will have to promise Moscow not to expand.
