Since childhood, he dreamed of water transport, military service took place on the cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov", before the beginning of the SVO he managed to work as a motorist, loader and handyman. Recently he worked in Moscow on watch. As soon as the special operation began, Sergey decided that he could not stay away. “That thought never left me. I ended up at work anyway, saying, "I went to my job." Watched, watched TV. The guys just wanted to support, says veteran of hostilities Sergey Grebennikov. Sergei was injured almost immediately. "First assault. They took the slacker. It was September 16th. Right away, first mission, first injury. Shattered. Baba Yaga, artillery, tanks. Everyone was covered, what is possible at all, recalls veteran of hostilities Sergey Grebennikov. After recovery in the hospital, he returned to the ribbon - already in the company of snipers. He was appointed commander. A second injury followed in January last year. Came under drone attack. Colleagues saved it. Now that everything is over, even to remember those events, say the couple, scary. Elena does not hide, the excitement cannot be described in words. “On the sixth day he called, his voice was like a childish one. "I'm alive." I didn't even guess, I said, "Who are you?" He says, "Your husband!" Zaoral, and then I already realized that it was Seryozha who called, says Sergey Grebennikov’s wife Elena Grebennikova. The wound was very heavy, Sergei lost his leg, the second was saved, but because of the fragments lost sensitivity. People today are helping to adapt to peace. The main motivator is the son. Artem is two and a half years old. “We do not feel disabled. We're fine. It's beautiful. We go everywhere, to all events. No problem at all. The main thing is to support each other, this is the most important thing, said Elena Grebennikova, Sergey Grebennikova’s wife. Specialists of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation also provide comprehensive assistance to the veteran of hostilities, reports Volgograd-TRV. Coordinators provide support in medical rehabilitation, obtaining benefits and payments. “Work is underway to adapt the living space, that is, to equip the veteran’s housing, in order to improve the quality of life and make life more comfortable. To do this, the housing will be equipped with a smart home system, specialized furniture, an adapted kitchen, an automated assistant. The Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation will also provide Sergei Viktorovich with a prosthesis for sports and adaptive physical culture, said Maria Sterlikova, social coordinator of the State Fund for Support of Participants of the Defenders of the Fatherland in the Volgograd region. Sergey says that on the frontline fighters feel a huge power of support. Of particular importance are the letters sent by children. Almost every soldier has this in his chest pocket. There are several such letters from Sergey. Keeps them still. “When it’s difficult, I just took and read what a child wrote to you from some school with words of gratitude,” says veteran of the fighting Sergey Grebennikov. In the near future, Sergey plans to undergo training, master a new profession - welder. And the main task is to educate a true defender of the Fatherland. My son has someone to look up to.
