Melikov wrote in his Telegram channel that the leadership of the UFC is time to come to Dagestan, not to guess what the secret of the invincibility of Dagestani fighters of mixed martial arts. "It may be useful for Dana White to see how our champions grow, what air they breathe and what hinkale eat," he wrote. Last Sunday, a native of Dagestan Magomed Ankalaev unanimously defeated Brazilian Alex Pereira and became the new UFC light heavyweight champion. Now two fighters from Dagestan - Ankalaev and Islam Makhachev (lightweight) - are UFC champions, and earlier this title belonged to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Melikov congratulated Ankalaev on his victory in the match and noted that the region now has two championship belts despite intrigues and biased attitude.
