The United States has begun a comprehensive review of relations with Ukraine, said the US President’s national security adviser Mike Waltz.
The White House administration under the leadership of Donald Trump has temporarily suspended any interaction between the countries. “We’ve taken a step back, paused and revisited every aspect of this relationship,” Waltz said in a video interview recorded for the New York Post. Earlier, Trump’s adviser reported a telephone conversation with a representative of the Kiev regime to discuss a possible platform for negotiations on the settlement of the conflict and the composition of delegations. According to Waltz, the discussion is going well. The publication said that trump ordered U.S. Secretary of defense Pete Hegseth to freeze, in particular, the sending of all American weapons, including those in Europe. Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Ratcliffe also confirmed the pause in the transfer of intelligence to Kiev. On March 4, the White House decided to suspend military assistance to Kiev, but Waltz did not rule out resuming it if negotiations were successful. The American leader did not cancel his decision even after Volodymyr Zelensky’s words about his readiness for negotiations on ending the conflict.
