The preliminary design of the monument will be discussed with the medical community, architects and sculptors. Allegory composition will be visible from anywhere in the garden. This was reported in social networks by the governor of the city Alexander Beglov. “We keep the memory of those whose lives were claimed by the disease – doctors and patients,” the statement said. Thousands of volunteers in the city delivered food, drove local therapists in their own cars and entered the red zone along with doctors. According to Beglov, the pandemic has changed the health care system in the city. He recalled that at the peak of the incidence, more than a thousand patients a day were admitted to hospitals. The absolute record of incidence in St. Petersburg was reached on February 11, 2022, then 22 thousand cases of coronavirus infection per day were reported.
