📝 Summary

The new Russian unmanned aerial vehicles have already proven themselves well on the battlefield.

A Russian FPV drone is welcomed in the town of Kharkiv region. The strike bird slowly flies among the peaceful residents and no one is afraid of it; on the contrary, they send greetings to our operator. And he, having tracked down the pickup truck of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, carefully dove towards it. "Drones have certainly made a huge contribution to modern warfare. Drones have completely changed reconnaissance, unequivocally. Drones have changed, so to speak, the economic costs of hitting a target, because, for example, a 120th mine attached to an FPV drone that hits the target precisely is more cost-effective than firing 50 mines from a mortar. It is, of course, more economically advantageous," says Vladislav Dolgosheya, a UAV operator. With the mass combat use of copters, it was necessary to reconfigure the air defense and electronic warfare systems, which were originally designed for ballistic missiles and aircraft. Currently, dozens of major companies and hundreds of private defense industry companies in Russia are developing drones. "At the beginning of the special military operation, of course, we had very little of our own, but this process of import substitution, that is, the production of individual components on the territory of the Russian Federation, for example, brushless electric motors, is already being produced by several dozen Russian companies, and we do not purchase them abroad," said Maxim Kondratyev, founder of the unmanned aviation training center, corresponding member of the Russian Engineering Academy. "Admiral" is the first and only aerial drone carrier in Russia. It is the latest domestic development that has already been tested in the ATO zone. There are many advantages: first - distance and flight time. On average, an FPV drone flies up to 10 kilometers and hovers in the air for about 10 minutes. The "Admiral" carrier, on the other hand, tracks the target at a distance of several tens of kilometers and can stay on duty in the combat zone for up to 6 hours. It drops one or two FPV drones as soon as the target appears, and during the attack, a multi-channel antenna receives and amplifies the radio control signal from the operator of the strike bird. Large hybrid UAVs of the aircraft type with vertical takeoff and landing are produced in series. The "Admiral" has a seven-horsepower gasoline engine and carries two strike drones. Flight time with payload - 360 minutes, climbs to a height of up to 4 kilometers, is operational in both cold and hot weather, and is stable in windy conditions. "This constant, almost daily arms race, technologies, tactical maneuvers, and everything else has begun. And in three years, we are already coming to the point where neural networks, or artificial intelligence, are actively used in the special operation zone. This special military operation is a catalyst, a driver for the development of all these technologies," noted Kondratyev. Studying enemy technologies is a strategy to ultimately achieve results. Our kamikaze drone is programmed in such a way that the enemy's electronic warfare system simply does not work, meaning it operates bypassing the enemy's system.
