One of the main materials used in bioprinting, the scientist called polymers. “First of all, these are various polymeric materials that are biodegradable, which can be gradually absorbed in the human body, and then where they have dissolved, stimulate tissue growth. Such materials in small laboratory quantities are available somewhere. It is necessary to develop the creation of such polymeric materials that will allow making temporary implants, said the Senate. The second necessary component for printing organs and tissues is hydrogel materials. “These gels may be on different bases. Conventionally, collagen is horns and hooves. The plant origin is algae. For example, a very good material for laboratory use is alginate. It stands out from brown algae. Russia has enough water resources to extract these algae and produce these materials. This, of course, needs to be stimulated. Therefore, all programs in the field of chemistry, new materials on a federal scale are extremely important. Fedor Senateov also suggested that the possibility of 3D printing a functioning human heart in bioengineers will take at least 10 years.
