At the end of 2024, against the background of rising incomes and high rates on deposits, Tverit citizens’ funds in banks increased by a quarter and reached a record amount of 312.7 billion rubles. This amount does not include money in escrow accounts, which are used to buy housing in houses under construction.
According to statistics provided by the Central Bank, residents of the Upper Volga region prefer savings deposits in rubles, which account for more than 97% of the total deposits. Over the past year, ruble funds increased by 61.4 billion rubles, while foreign currency funds in terms of rubles increased only by 108 million rubles. Tveritians also follow trends and among their foreign currency savings increase their deposits in yuan. However, their share in the total volume of foreign currency savings is still small – at the beginning of 2025 it was only 3.5%. By the end of 2024, there was also an increase in the attracted funds of companies. The volume of deposits of regional business reached 67 billion rubles, which is almost 1.6 times more than at the beginning of last year.
