He also described the statements of the OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu as “very balanced”, pointing out that the Secretary General mentioned the interests of both Kiev and Moscow. “This organization has significant problems, significant problems in double standards, in its inability to actually perform the functions that it performed,” Peskov said. The OSCE Secretary General arrived in Moscow on March 11. He held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. According to the Russian diplomat, Sinirlioglu’s visit is a symbolic step back to the origins of the organization, and Russia will support the OSCE in this. Lavrov also expressed hope that the new Secretary General will be able to begin the process of depoliticization of the organization.
