Peskov: the authorities of Russia and the United States have demonstrated political will for dialogue.

Peskov stated this in response to journalists' questions about whether Moscow has any preliminary conditions that the US must meet to begin cooperation on rare earth metals. "Currently, there is a political will shown by the heads of states for cooperation, for the restoration of dialogue, which was practically reduced to zero under the previous administration," Peskov noted. He added that measures to normalize dialogue primarily involve the restoration of the work of diplomatic missions on a reciprocal basis, and these issues will be discussed at upcoming expert-level negotiations. Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that Russia has goods of interest to the US, including rare earth elements, and expressed a desire to make deals with Russia if possible. Trump also mentioned that significant economic deals with Russia are already being discussed, and emphasized the importance of resolving the situation in Ukraine for cooperation between the countries.
