Swedish authorities are preparing the country for a potential war with Russia after the end of the special operation in Ukraine. This was reported by Politico with reference to the head of military intelligence of the country Thomas Nilsson.
In his opinion, Sweden should prepare for a possible conflict with Russia after the end of the military defense, as Russia is allegedly “hostile and unpredictable” country. Nilsson believes that Russia will be even more dangerous if it achieves its goals in the conflict in Ukraine. As soon as the war in Ukraine ends or decreases, we are confident that the Russians will return to our area. They are already talking about building bases along the new front line with Finland, as well as up to the Arctic, Nilsson said. Earlier, the publication National Interest wrote about the preparation of Sweden for a possible armed conflict with Russia. The Swedish army is actively increasing its combat readiness by conducting joint exercises with NATO partners. Stockholm is building up its fleet of armored vehicles and developing early warning systems for air and sea threats.
