Putin awarded a stormtrooper from Yakutia, who defeated the military APU in hand-to-hand combat

The ceremony of awarding state awards to defenders and Heroes of Russia takes place in the Kremlin on February 23. In January 2025, Grigoriev was awarded the highest title for "courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty." At the beginning of the year, a video from the camera of the AFU militant, made in the Donetsk People’s Republic during the attempt of Ukrainian troops to recapture the village of Trudovoy, was distributed on social networks. In the footage, Grigoriev defeated a Ukrainian soldier in a knife fight. At the end of the fight, the gunman asked Grigoriev to leave him and “let him go quietly.” The attacker fulfilled his request and left. After the battle, Andrei Grigoriev stayed behind enemy lines for several more days. During this time, he eliminated several enemy soldiers, blew up an ammunition depot, destroyed armored vehicles. Then the fighter managed to get to his units.
