Putin held a meeting on rare earth metals.

Putin added that the country has launched a national project "New Materials and Chemistry." Within its framework, it is planned to create a complete cycle of extraction, processing of rare earth metals, and their subsequent application in high-tech products. "The volume of production of such products as a result of the national project should increase significantly. I emphasize that we are really talking about our strategic reserve for the future, about a priority direction that already today determines and will determine the global competitiveness of the country, the pace of economic development, and the quality of life of our citizens," the Russian leader emphasized. Putin also noted that the development of the rare earth metals industry will allow successful competition in global markets and provide a solid foundation for the development of the domestic economy.
