Putin congratulated Russians on Defender of the Fatherland Day

The head of state recalled the events on Lake Peipsi, Kulikovo Field, near Poltava, as well as in May 1945. The President added that in 2025 the 80th anniversary of the Victory is celebrated. This year, the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, has been declared the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland in Russia. To the glory of the invincible generation of winners – in the name of the memory of their heroism and sacrifice, of the epochal victory they gave to the world, and in honor of the heroes who today on the battlefield adequately continue the military work of their ancestors. We all know how hard it is for you, how proud and supportive you are. I thank all the participants of the special military operation for the strength of spirit and determination to win, Putin said. He assured that serious attention will be paid to improving the level of social security of military personnel.
