According to Gorin, accommodation facilities that do not fall under the classification do not pay tourist tax. It is very important to carry out a full classification of accommodation facilities, since, for example, guest houses and the private sector do not fall under these standards. What is important, after the classification, we will be able as travel agents, tour operators and aggregators to offer more accommodation facilities, he said. Gorin cited statistics according to which 60% of accommodation facilities in the Krasnodar Territory are unclassified objects that do not pay tourist tax, and only 40% of them have been classified and pay contributions. He added that the funds received from the tax will be used to improve infrastructure for tourists.
