📝 Summary

The Chairman of the Duma Committee on the financial market Anatoly Aksakov does not believe that Russia in the next decade is facing a shortage of electricity due to mining. The MP is confident that with the growth of energy needs will grow and capacity. He said this on the air of Radio Russia.

The MP added that in this case, demand stimulates supply. If the demand is large, and it is so predictable, planned, in the sense that mining will not die as a subject of economic activity, then, obviously, energy capacity will increase. But in any case, the state will regulate the process in such a way that energy consumers, business, including mining, develop where there is a sufficient amount of energy for the population and for the production of cryptocurrency, Aksakov said. From January 1, 2025, in ten regions of the Russian Federation, cryptocurrency mining was completely banned, in three regions, partial restrictions were introduced. The measures are related to saving electricity costs.
