Schoolchildren of the Erudite Center visited veteran Alexander Pagaev. The children have a special mission – they collect information about the participants of the Great Patriotic War for the school book of memory. Alexander Mikhailovich spoke about how he liberated Vyborg during the war and how he served in the Pacific Fleet after it. The story of Alexander Pagaev will be another example of courage and patriotism for the younger generation. Not a book page, not a television program, not a school lecture. Alexander Pagaev remembered the years of the Great Patriotic War for life, as well as one of his greatest luck – this is how the veteran calls the retreat of the Japanese army. Alexander Pagaev, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War: I was on the border, in the Far East, and I watched the Japanese as they wanted to attack the Soviet Union, looked at them with binoculars. It was scary because there were so many. If there had been a war, I probably would not have been alive, but it turned out that when our troops won the victory at Stalingrad, the Japanese were frightened and refused to attack the Soviet Union. How to live despite all the fears and complexities of the war is a long story, says Alexander Mikhailovich. You can't tell that easily. There were many days and events that I wanted to forget like a terrible dream. But one has only to remember about the Great Patriotic War, how before their eyes they are those who should not be forgotten, people who together with him, as they could bring Victory closer. Once he defended the Motherland, now he is rooting for those who defend its independence today – for participants in a special military operation. The first question to Alexander Mikhailovich schoolchildren ask just about them, or rather about what would wish them a veteran. The answer is Victory. Alexander Pagaev, veteran of the Great Patriotic War: I watch them every day. In very difficult conditions they fight, many of them are crippled, but they are heroes. It is a very difficult situation, but why do they say "defender of the Motherland"? He must love his country and can save it only if he fights for it from the heart. To visit a veteran, listen to his story and ask questions for schoolchildren is a rare opportunity. This meeting will be forever imprinted not only in their memory, but also in the memory of the whole school. Anastasia Dzhanaeva, primary school teacher of the Erudite Education Center: A Book of Memory is being created at our school, which will include participants of the Great Patriotic War. Each class takes a specific participant of the Great Patriotic War, prepares a biography, interviews relatives, visits the Barbashovo field. All this is recorded on a disc and is included in the school memory book, from which the classes that come will receive information in the future.” Fascinated, afraid to miss even a word, the guys listened to the story of Alexander Pagaev, not forgetting to receive perhaps the most valuable advice in their lives. A conversation between a veteran and a student: “What would you like to wish to the students?” - A lot of things. First of all, I want you to study well, so that you play sports with your studies. Then you will be a rich man and become a true defender of the Fatherland.
