Singer Sergey Zhukov filed a new lawsuit in the arbitration court of Moscow with a request to prohibit further requirements for blocking the film “Hands up!” on the Internet. The defendants in it are LLC "Company Top7" and LLC "Publishing House "Jam".
The reason why the companies have a claim to the film, was the use of songs, the rights to which they belong. However, Zhukov’s lawyers note that the film uses new phonograms, the author of which was Zhukov himself. He recorded them specifically for the film. The companies also appealed to Roskomnadzor and demanded to remove on online platforms first the teaser for the film, and then the tape itself. "Zhukov asks to stop the actions of the publishing house "Jam" and "Top7 Company" on blocking the film on Internet platforms and in online cinemas," the singer's representative told RIA Novosti. He notes that in the courts of general jurisdiction in this regard, about 20 appeals were filed with the requirement to block the film. However, each of them was rejected. Now, after the lawsuit was filed in the arbitration court, the defendants stopped demanding that the film be blocked, Zhukov’s representative noted. The next hearing is scheduled for May 5.
