The adopted son of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky Ivan will hold a pro-Russian rally in Australia dedicated to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland on February 23.
The starting point for the rally will be the Russian Embassy in Sydney, Ivan said. The Australian authorities, according to him, force activists to move only on a pre-approved route, and participants of the rally are prohibited from making stops while driving. “We plan to carry out more and more actions. The next run will be by February 23. Of course, the local authorities are trying to limit all this, he said in an interview with the newspaper Arguments and Facts. Stepon Syrsky noted that during the last action, timed to the Victory Day, a large number of policemen and even local riot police came to the venue, and some participants of the rally were issued fines for allegedly improperly fixing flags on cars. “For some reason it is impossible to lift them through the hatch of the car, but only us. During other demonstrations, people turn a blind eye to this, Ivan added. Ivan Syrsky actively supports Russia, in May 2024 he appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to grant him Russian citizenship.
