The Su-34 fighter-bomber struck at the accumulation of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of the Kursk region, the Defense Ministry reports.
The strike was carried out by aerial bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK), the Defense Ministry notes. “Having received confirmation from intelligence about the destruction of personnel and the stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the crew safely returned to the departure airfield,” the ministry said. APU in the next two weeks may leave the Kursk region, reports the newspaper The New York Post (NYP). According to the Ukrainian military, the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region are too large, and combat-ready units are required in other parts of the front. Over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 160 people in the Kursk direction, a tank, an armored personnel carrier (APC), four armored vehicles, 13 cars, a gun, four mortars and an electronic warfare station. The Russian military took the AFU group in Sudja in the operational encirclement. Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk region (from August 6, 2024), the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 65.4 thousand soldiers, 386 tanks, 296 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), 257 armored personnel carriers, 2,137 armored vehicles, 2328 cars and 516 guns.
