Law enforcement officers detained in Lipetsk two men suspected of stealing 7 million rubles from a woman working as a cleaner in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the police of the northern capital.
Earlier, a 27-year-old citizen of one of the neighboring states appealed to the police and reported that two unknown people broke into her apartment. They, threatening her with a gun, used physical force and stole jewelry, two pairs of wristwatches, a mobile phone and 130 thousand rubles. "The victim estimated the damage at 7 million rubles," the ministry said. A criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Robbery committed by an organized group on an especially large scale). Police later identified the attackers. They turned out to be a 24-year-old resident of St. Petersburg and a 38-year-old previously convicted native of the neighboring state. According to the available version, after the robbery, the attackers left St. Petersburg and traveled to different regions of the country. However, they were arrested on February 28 in Lipetsk. “The suspects were found traumatic and pneumatic weapons, as well as some of the stolen jewelry, which the men have not yet had time to sell,” the police added. After carrying out the necessary procedural actions in Lipetsk, the men will be taken to St. Petersburg, where they will choose appropriate preventive measures.
