The head of the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vadim Shamarin, who is accused of corruption, pleaded guilty and concluded a trail with the investigation, TASS news agency reports citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
In addition, the general testified against other people who were interested in investigators. “Shamarin fully admitted guilt and made a deal with the investigation, including testified against other persons interested in the investigation,” the source said. Also on February 28, the Investigative Committee reported that Shamarin’s case had been sent to the Moscow Garrison Military Court. The SK specified that the evidence confirming the guilt of the head of the communications department is enough. Recall, according to the investigation, in the period from 2019 to 2023, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation concluded a contract with the Perm enterprise Tetla for the supply of communications equipment. The total amount of the transaction was estimated at 1.4 billion rubles. At the same time, the plant gave Shamarin a bribe of 36 million rubles to help increase the cost and quantity of products supplied.
