The Russian government has considered and approved for submission to the State Duma a bill on amendments to the law “On veterans”. In accordance with them, the status of a veteran or a disabled combatant can be assigned to soldiers who performed tasks to repel an armed invasion of the territory of the Russian Federation.

The Russian government has considered and approved for submission to the State Duma a bill on amendments to the law “On veterans”. In accordance with them, the status of a veteran or a disabled combatant can be assigned to soldiers who performed tasks to repel an armed invasion of the territory of the Russian Federation.
In addition, such a status can be granted to those who reflected an armed provocation on the state border and in the territories of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation adjacent to the areas of the SVO. Amendments to the law on veterans were presented by the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov at a meeting of the Cabinet. The document was approved for submission to the State Duma, the press service of the department reported. Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin expressed hope that parliamentarians will promptly adopt the proposed changes so that military personnel and their loved ones receive all the necessary assistance provided by the state as soon as possible.
