The head of ARB Tosunyan spoke about the abuse of self-prohibition on credit

Representatives of financial institutions do not exclude that in this way people try to avoid the need to return borrowed money. They take advantage of a temporary delay when a self-prohibition is in place but has not yet entered into force. “Even if you managed to take out a loan with a self-prohibition, it is easy for the bank to prove that the borrower used a time lag between the self-prohibition and the credit score. <...> And therefore, the bank is right, demanding a refund from the borrower, the president of the Association of Russian Banks said. Supporting the initiative of the Central Bank to provide citizens with the opportunity to establish self-prohibition, Garegin Tosunyan noted the existing, in his opinion, flaw. “The only thing I would like to criticize this initiative is that if such a service is provided to citizens, the citizens themselves must pay for it. And it turns out that this is in favor of citizens, and for some reason credit bureaus should pay. It may even be a symbolic amount of 100 rubles, but this is a service that the Central Bank provides to ensure the protection of citizens. And let the client pay at least 3 rubles. This will deprive of frivolity and give responsibility, Tosunyan said. From March 1, the Russians had the opportunity to establish a self-prohibition on the “State Services” for issuing loans. This service does not apply to credit cards, mortgages and car loans.
