The maximum fines for the sale of power engineers to children will reach half a million rubles. We plan to consider the initiative next week, Volodin said. The press service of the state Duma reminded that the law prohibiting the sale of power engineers to minors, comes into force on March 1. Previously, these measures worked only in certain regions. According to the law, the subjects of the Russian Federation will be able to set restrictions on the time and places of sale of the relevant beverages. Sellers will be required to refuse to sell tonics and energy drinks to customers who are under the age of 18. The harm from energy drinks is obvious: increased pressure and the risk of early cardiovascular disease, diabetes due to their high sugar content, and other complications. Our task is to protect the health of children, and the State Duma is consistently working on relevant legislative decisions, said Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. He added that adults are not always aware of their responsibility, and sometimes even try to replenish the cash register at the expense of children. According to the speaker of the state Duma, this should be strictly punished. The bill was introduced in the House of Parliament in December 2024. The document proposes to introduce fines for the retail sale of tonic beverages to minors, including power drinks: up to 50 thousand rubles for citizens, up to 200 thousand rubles for officials and up to 500 thousand rubles for legal entities.
