In Tomsk completed the investigation of a criminal case against a local lawyer who is suspected of major fraud. The 40-year-old man, being the head of two law firms and having a previous criminal record, caused damages worth more than 4.5 million rubles.

According to the prosecutor’s office of the Tomsk region, the defendant in the case is accused of defrauding 27 people who applied to him for legal assistance from November 2018 to November 2024. Having received money from clients, he spent it on personal needs, while not fulfilling or only partially fulfilling his obligations to provide legal services. Among the victims of the fraud are elderly people, including 83-year-old pensioners. The case was referred to the Tomsk Soviet District Court. This is not the only case of fraud in the region. Earlier it was reported about a dozen Tomsk, who in one day appealed to the police with statements about theft of money totaling about 9 million rubles. Earlier, we talked about how 10 citizens contacted the police with a report of theft of funds. The total amount of damage was about 9 million rubles.
