📝 Summary

U.S. President Donald Trump has invalidated pardons granted by his predecessor Joe Biden because they were allegedly signed by a device to automatically sign documents.

On the social network Truth Social, the American leader posted a photo that depicts portraits of US presidents: Trump from 2017 to 2021, devices for automatic signing of documents by the name of Biden from 2021 to 2025, and then again Trump. In a comment on the post, the US president ridiculed his predecessor, calling him "sleepy Joe," and declared his pardons invalid because of the autosignature. "Pardonies" provided by Sleepy Joe (46th President of the United States Joe Biden). “Editor’s note, are hereby declared null and void hereafter by virtue of the fact that they were signed by an autoper,” Trump wrote. He added that Biden was unaware of the pardons, and those who were aware of them may have committed a crime. Last December, Joe Biden pardoned 39 Americans convicted of nonviolent crimes. He also commuted the sentences of about 1,500 convicts who were transferred from prisons to house arrest during the coronavirus pandemic.
