Veterans of the Great Patriotic War will join the action "Garden of memory" of North Ossetia. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, North Ossetia will join the sixth season of the campaign. The republic will contribute to the planting of more than 27 million trees in Russia and abroad in memory of every Soviet person who died in 1941-1945. The central event in North Ossetia will be held in mid-April near the village of Balta, where 800 red oak seedlings in the form of geoglyph "80" will be planted in memory of 79 Heroes of the Soviet Union - natives of North Ossetia. Trees will symbolize gratitude and respect for those who gave their lives in the name of the Motherland. In total, in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, more than 9,000 trees will be planted in North Ossetia as part of the “Memory Garden” campaign. Each tree is a symbol of memory and gratitude of peaceful generations, said Vadim Bazaev, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology. Recall that the international action "Garden of Memory" is held within the framework of the federal project "Preservation of forests" of the national project "Environmental well-being". This large-scale event has been held on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation since 2020 and is aimed at preserving the memory of Soviet people who died during the Great Patriotic War. From March 18 to June 22, it is planned to plant 27 million trees throughout Russia. The main goal of the action is to perpetuate the memory of the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War, to strengthen the unity of Russians by engaging in a socially significant project to plant trees, as well as to consolidate the civic activity of the population, public, volunteer and volunteer organizations.
