Work on the bell tower of the Trinity Cathedral will be completed completely in 2023
The work is carried out by order of ANO "Revival". The monument of federal significance is first recorded in the plan of the Pskov fortifications of 1706. The last time the bell tower was restored more than half a century ago. It is believed to stand on the former Crom Tower. Fundamental research was conducted for the first time. Restorers strengthen the foundation and walls. In the summer, the cross and spire were restored and gilded. In winter, the roof system was replaced. “Ahead of New Year’s Eve, restorers found that part of the sub-stop system stood on ceiling beams that rotted. There was a clockwork on this floor. During the restoration, the author of the project carried out an additional examination and managed to issue design decisions that allowed replacing the top beams with metal beams, Igor Krivogornitsin, Acting Director of the Restoration Workshop of the Pskov Diocese.
