Russia and China are the richest countries in the world for rare earth metals. This was stated in an interview with Russia 24 by the leader of the CPRF faction in the State Duma Gennady Zyuganov.
In Ukraine, according to the politician, to extract rare earth resources “especially nowhere”. “All the latest technologies are based on these materials [rare earth elements]. The two main stores are us and China. There is not much in Ukraine, and we still need to invest to develop something, Zyuganov said. There are no such resources in Europe at all, so European countries should strengthen ties with Russia and China, the CPRF leader concluded. On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the development of the rare earth metals industry. The Russian leader noted that this area is now of priority importance and will determine the country’s global competitiveness.
