📝 Summary

Extensive greening is organized under the federal project "Forest Conservation" of the national project "Ecological Well-being".

For the Krasnodar region, where tourism is an important part of the economy, protecting forests is vital. Nature is the main wealth that needs to be preserved. Every year, new trees are planted in the region to replace those that have been cut down or died. "We strive to ensure that the restored area always exceeds the territory where trees have died or been cut down. Last year, we restored over 150 hectares of forest. This year, we plan to work on more than 176 hectares," emphasized Governor of Krasnodar Veniamin Kondratyev. A nursery has been established in the Belorechensk forestry, where oak, ash, poplar, and walnut trees are grown. 1 kg of acorns yields 250 seedlings. To plant 1 hectare of forest, 4,000 seedlings are needed, which take 2-3 years to grow. Since 2017, 1.5 million trees have been grown. By 2025, specialists plan to grow seedlings from 3 tons of seeds. The first seedlings have already been planted in the fall of 2024 in the Apscheronsk, Yeisk, and Otradnensk districts. Work on greening the region will continue next spring, according to the press service of the administration of the Krasnodar region. Earlier in the news of the Krasnodar region: Kuban spent 50 billion rubles on social infrastructure.
