The title of Hero of Russia was awarded posthumously to a native of Buryatia Sergey Bakin, a participant in a special military operation.
Closed decree of the President of the Russian Federation Sergey Vladimirovich Bakin was awarded the title of Hero of Russia posthumously. By duty, the feat of the fighter is classified, the head of the republic Alexei Tsydenov said in his Telegram channel. According to the head of the republic, the soldier was born on January 14, 2000 in the village of Onokhoy Zaigraevsky district of Buryatia. He graduated from the Ulyanovsk Suvorov Military School, then graduated with honors from the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School named after Marshal K. K. Rokossovsky. In May 2023, in the rank of senior lieutenant, after joining the military unit of the rescue center in Sevastopol, he immediately went to the SVO. During the fighting in November 2024, Bakin was seriously wounded and died in hospital. He was also awarded a commemorative medal "For participation in a special military operation" and a medal "For military valor" of the II degree. On the sixth of December 2024, the hero of the SVO was buried in his native village, where his wife and daughter live.
