In the duty part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Syktyvkar, a 35-year-old local resident applied for the theft of funds in the amount of 300 thousand rubles. According to the applicant, she applied to the lumber procurement organization to order the manufacture of the bath. The woman did not check the reviews of the service provider, and the entrepreneur himself was not familiar to her before. After discussing all the details of the construction, without drawing up any documents confirming the transaction, a resident of Syktyvkar handed over an advance payment to the businessman. However, over the next 9 months, the performer, under various pretexts, postponed the work, stopped answering calls and did not get in touch. Without waiting for the timely fulfillment of obligations, the victim filed a complaint with the police. During the operational-search activities, the police established the identity of the suspect and his place of residence. They turned out to be a 34-year-old resident of Syktyvkar, previously convicted repeatedly. During the interrogation, the man admitted guilt and explained that he spent the victim’s money for personal needs. The investigator of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Republic of Komi initiated a criminal case against the suspect on the grounds of a crime under part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed on a large scale). The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Komi reminds citizens of the need to carefully check the reputation of performers before concluding contracts and transferring funds, as well as to document all transactions.
