In the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Vorkutinsky” with a statement of fraud appealed 54-year-old woman. The victim told police that the messenger received a message allegedly from the head of the institution where he works. It talked about an unscheduled inspection in the organization and a call from the curator, to which she is obliged to respond. Since the request came from a well-known person, the woman did not suspect anything. Soon she was contacted by a “representative of law enforcement agencies” and accused of transferring money to an unfriendly country. After the attempts of the vorkutinka to refute the information about such a banking operation, the scammer voiced the likely involvement of hackers in this, which greatly intimidated his victim. In the course of further telephone conversations, the victim communicated with several representatives of allegedly state structures, who convinced her to issue loans and transfer funds to a “safe account”. During the week, Vorkutinka issued loans in different banks and transferred 957 thousand rubles to the specified details. On this fact, the investigative department opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud". The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Komi asks to be critical of incoming information from unknown telephone subscribers and immediately stop the conversation if the topic of the call concerns financial transactions.
