A resident of Yelets Lipetsk region transferred the fraudster 1.6 million rubles, taken on credit. As reported in the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, on February 20, a 24-year-old guy received an SMS that access to the portal “State Services” is blocked and you need to contact technical support. Yelchanin called the phone specified by the fraudsters. False-technical support switched him to pseudo-employees of the Central Bank, who persuaded him to send a contract and consent to the processing of personal data through the messenger. He was asked to open the card in the bank. Soon he saw in the online application that he was issued a loan in the amount of 1 million 639 thousand rubles. The scammers reassured him that this is a formality, a test of credit potential, and the money was asked through an ATM to transfer to a card opened by a man “for safety.” All funds from there soon disappeared, and the villager realized that he had been deceived. The police opened a criminal case under article 159 of the criminal code on fraud.
