He noted that proposals on unblocking communications and a mechanism for mutual control and verification over weapons remain unanswered. “We have received Azerbaijan’s response to the peace agreement,” the Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman told reporters. On January 8, 2025, Armenia submitted proposals on a number of points of the peace treaty. Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Baku and Yerevan are close to reaching a final agreement on the text of the peace treaty. Two of the 17 articles have not yet been agreed by the parties. The first paragraph concerns the abstention of the two countries from international claims against each other, and the second includes the non-deployment of representatives of other states on the border of powers.
