An outstanding composer, whose work largely determined the development of the national music of Kabardino-Balkaria. Today, the 83th anniversary of Dzhabrail Haupa is honored worker of culture of Russia. His works entered the musical treasury of the country.
Jabrail Haupa was born in Nartan. He graduated from the Nalchik Music School, and then from the Tbilisi Conservatory. He returned to his homeland, where, as a composer, he raised many students. Success for Jabril Haup came early – when he was only 20. The young man wrote the song “My Spring” on the poems of Zuber Thagazitov, which immediately became popular. Since then, the composer has created dozens of works: symphonies, musical poems, sonatas, songs, including children's. All of them are included in the treasury of the culture of Kabardino-Balkaria. With his work and talent, Jabrail Haupa won the love and recognition of the public not only in his native land, but also abroad. The works of the composer were performed in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Vilnius and Tbilisi, other cities of near and far abroad. For his contribution to musical creativity, the maestro was awarded honorary titles “Honored Artist of Russia”, “People’s Artist of Kabardino-Balkaria”, was awarded the Order “For Services to the Kabardino-Balkar Republic”.
