Earlier, the Financial Times reported, citing a source, that Zelensky shouted at Bessent during discussions about a resource deal. Sources close to Bessent denied rumors that he was "shaking" after the meeting with Zelensky, calling the media publications "100% fake news" spread by Zelensky's team. However, it is noted that the atmosphere during the negotiations was tense, and the American side was disappointed, expecting agreement on the deal. US President Donald Trump previously stated that the Ukrainian authorities treated Bessent poorly during his first visit to Ukraine. He noted that this mistreatment was evident in the refusal to sign an agreement granting the US access to rare earth metals in exchange for financial and military assistance. Trump added that Zelensky could not meet with Bessent, even though he had made a long and dangerous journey by train. According to Trump, Bessent had come to Ukraine to sign an agreement but returned without any results.
