The average age is approximately from 45 to 60 years. The number of men with diabetes is now growing, because men, as in the general world, obesity is growing, he said. Also, doctors warn that diabetes mellitus is much “younger”. “If earlier such a diagnosis was made mainly to people aged 40 and above, now young people and children are increasingly suffering from it,” Romashkina said. The most severe stages of vascular complications and difficult-to-diagnose forms of diabetes mellitus are treated at the Institute of Diabetes of the National Institute of Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, previously told the director of the Institute, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Maria Shestakova.
