The inhabitant of the Vvedensky monastery of Optina deserts, Hieromonk Konstantin (Nikitenko) died at the age of 42. For about two and a half years, he nursed soldiers in the SVO zone.
The funeral and burial will take place on March 7 at the monastery. This was reported by the viceroy of Optina of the desert Bishop Joseph (Queen). “His sudden departure occurred outside the territory of military operations, and while on vacation,” said Bishop Joseph. In 2009, Konstantin entered the monastery, in 2015 he was ordained a rank of hieromonk. The viceroy noted that Nikitenko came to the monastery as a young man, had a medical education, and was also the head of the choir. During a special military operation, the monk with the call sign Tver got into a volunteer detachment and wanted to stay with the soldiers until victory, providing them with spiritual and medical assistance.
