Denis Alekseev, who holds the post of deputy governor of the Vologda region, appealed his arrest, the press service of the Basmanny Court of Moscow reported.
Alexeyev was arrested on February 26 in the case of a bribe of 100 million rubles. The investigation believes that he and the head of the representative office of the Vologda region in Moscow Kirill Bocharov in 2024 and 2025 demanded money from a representative of a commercial organization. “An appeal has been registered against the decision to elect a preventive measure in the form of detention against Alekseev,” the press service of RIA Novosti quoted. Alekseev and Bocharov are charged with receiving a bribe in an especially large amount according to Part 6, 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. They face up to 15 years in prison, which is the maximum penalty under this article. The Governor of the region Georgy Filimonov stressed that the criminal case against Alekseev has nothing to do with the work in the region and expressed confidence that the investigation will sort everything out.
